Author Guidelines
BDJ Smart: Breakthrough Development Journal in Strategic Management & Marketing invites authors to submit high-quality, original research articles that contribute to the fields of strategic management, marketing, and related disciplines. The following guidelines are intended to assist authors in preparing their manuscripts for submission to the journal:
1. Manuscript Types
We accept the following types of manuscripts:
- Research Articles: Full-length original research based on empirical studies or theoretical contributions.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews of recent developments and key trends in the relevant fields.
- Case Studies: Practical examples illustrating the application of theory in real-world business contexts.
- Short Communications: Brief reports of significant new findings or methodologies.
2. Manuscript Submission
- Online Submission: All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through our online submission system.
- File Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
- Cover Letter: A cover letter must accompany the submission, stating the manuscript's originality, significance, and confirming that it has not been submitted elsewhere.
- Author Information: Please provide complete author information, including full names, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID IDs (if applicable).
3. Manuscript Preparation

- Title of the manuscript (concise and descriptive)
- Full names of all authors
- Author affiliations (including department, institution, and country)
- Corresponding author’s email address
- Any acknowledgements (funding, contributions, etc.)

Abstract and Keywords:
- The manuscript should include an abstract of 150-250 words that summarizes the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study.
- Include 3-5 keywords that reflect the main topics of the article.

- The manuscript should be structured clearly with the following sections, as applicable:

- The text should be double-spaced with a 12-point Times New Roman font and 1-inch margins on all sides.

Figures and Tables:
- All figures and tables should be numbered consecutively (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1).
- Include a brief title for each figure and table.
- Ensure that all figures and tables are referred to in the text and placed at the appropriate points in the manuscript.
- Submit figures in high-quality formats (e.g., .jpeg, .png, .tiff).

- References should be formatted according to the APA (7th edition) style.
- Ensure all references cited in the text appear in the reference list, and vice versa.
- Include only relevant and recent references, and avoid excessive self-citations.
4. Ethical Considerations
- Authors must ensure that their work complies with the journal's ethical standards, including obtaining permission for the use of copyrighted material, ensuring the accuracy of data, and avoiding plagiarism.
- Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and provide a statement on ethical approval for studies involving human participants or animals.
5. Review Process
- All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. Both authors and reviewers are anonymous to each other.
- Authors will receive feedback from reviewers, which may include suggestions for revision and resubmission.
- Manuscripts may be accepted, revised, or rejected based on reviewer recommendations.
6. Copyright and Licensing
- By submitting a manuscript, authors grant BDJ Smart the right to publish the article under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain the copyright to their work but must allow others to share, distribute, and adapt the article, provided proper attribution is given.
7. Plagiarism Check
- All manuscripts submitted to BDJ Smart are checked for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software.
- Manuscripts found to contain significant amounts of plagiarized content will be rejected, and appropriate action will be taken.
8. Publication Fees
- BDJ Smart does not charge any submission or publication fees. Publication is entirely free of charge for authors.
9. Revisions and Resubmissions
- Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on peer review comments. Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the specified timeframe.
- Resubmitted manuscripts should include a cover letter detailing the changes made in response to reviewers' comments.
